See All the Red-Carpet Looks From the 2011 Tony Awards
The appropriately theatrical red carpet for the 65th Annual Tony awards, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, is a parade of traditional black tuxedos for male stars and splashes of vibrant color for the women. The Book of Mormon’s Nikki M. James dazzles in a red gown sans shoulder straps — a chic variation on fellow nominee Judith Light’s long-sleeved number. Perhaps it should go without saying that the most fun so far comes from Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner, the fabulous costume-design duo nominated for their thread selections in the musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert. At their sides are muscular men dressed in drag as Uncle Sam and something that appears to be a trippy vision from I Dream of Jeannie.
