Prince William and Princess Kate — officially, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge — are visiting southern California this weekend, and so the nice people over at The Simpsons sent a letter inviting the royal couple to visit Springfield and attend a read-through of an upcoming episode, thoughtfully signed “Homer Simpson.†Their royal highnesses were too busy, alas, with more pressing matters, such as playing polo. (That silly old game where you ride a horse and attempt to hit little golf balls with a long croquet stick.) Guess that little postscript Homer sneaked in there didn’t do the trick: “P.S. If you knighted me,that [sic] would be so awesome. It would really impress the guys at Moe’s.†[Inside TV/EW]
