Prince William and Princess Kate — officially, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge — are visiting southern California this weekend, and so the nice people over at The Simpsons sent a letter inviting the royal couple to visit Springfield and attend a read-through of an upcoming episode, thoughtfully signed “Homer Simpson.” Their royal highnesses were too busy, alas, with more pressing matters, such as playing polo. (That silly old game where you ride a horse and attempt to hit little golf balls with a long croquet stick.) Guess that little postscript Homer sneaked in there didn’t do the trick: “P.S. If you knighted me,that [sic] would be so awesome. It would really impress the guys at Moe’s.” [Inside TV/EW]
