Mark Lugo, a 31-year-old man from Hoboken, New Jersey, has been arrested for allegedly stealing a Picasso, Tête de Femme, from a San Francisco art gallery this week. Police found him with the paper drawing on Thursday at an apartment in Napa, where he was visiting friends. Held on $5 million bail, he faces burglary, grand theft, and drug charges. Investigators believe Lugo planned to ship the artwork to an unknown party. Before getting into the art-theft game, Lugo, a man with an apparent penchant for very expensive things, had been a server at Per Se. [AP, SF Chronicle]
