Seeing as how both Bridget Jones’ Diary and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason made over $250 million each, I’m frankly stunned they weren’t churning this out sooner. Colin Firth has already spilled some alleged plot points, though I am hard-pressed to believe they would actually reveal the real plot: “I can tell you that Bridget and Mark can’t have children, I think that’s the way it goes on,†Firth told Access Hollywood last year. “So then she makes the huge mistake of going back to Daniel Cleaver [Hugh Grant’s character] for long enough to get pregnant. And I think he dumps her, and she’s left stranded, and guess who comes back to rescue her?†Could that possibly be the plot? Can’t they just have Renee smoke too much and walk like a duck again?
