Say what you want about George Lopez, the man is going out the way we all should: riffing on our greatest disappointment. “In case you did not see the news on unemployment, it’s at an all-time high and for Latinos, it just got a little higher,†Lopez joked last night after word came that TBS canceled Lopez Tonight after two seasons. “I’m taking it good, but my goddesses are a wreck… they left me, and I’m losing teeth.†Of course, the abrupt cancellation has caused speculation that low ratings pulled in by lead-in Conan caused Lopez to bottom out, as both shows have experienced a decline in viewership at roughly the same rate. Also, that’s allegedly what happened between Conan and Leno, and the irony would be too great not to repeat itself. “Had it not been for George being so incredibly supportive of me I would not have come to TBS,†Conan said last night, taking a moment to address the cancellation. “It makes me really sad that TBS and George could not work this out….so tonight all of our thoughts are with George and his staff and his crew.â€
