Stephen King’s new book, 11/22/63, doesn’t come out until November 8 (not November 22, for some reason), and a film version is already in the works. Jonathan Demme has optioned the feature rights to the 960-page novel about a high school English teacher who goes back in time to thwart JFK’s assassination, and plans to write, direct, and produce the film. Rumor has it that Demme wants to start shooting with Eric Stoltz playing the lead, only to later replace him with Michael J. Fox. It’s a proven formula. [Variety]
