Brad Pitt did NPR’s “Fresh Air†yesterday! His long, thoughtful talk with Terry Gross covered a number of topics — Moneyball, his evangelical Christian upbringing, why he and Angelina Jolie decided to sell photos of their children, and his Inglourious Basterds character’s unusual pronunciation of the word Nazi — before arriving, finally, at Fight Club. “How many people walk up to you and say, ‘The first rule of fight club is, you do not talk about fight club’?†Gross asks (flubbing the line just slightly, but we’ll let it slide. She’s Terry Gross.) “No one,†Pitt answers, sounding a little surprised. “Sometimes I’ll get ‘Tyler Durden, heh heh heh,’ but nothing much more than that.†We understand that the average Fight Club fan probably doesn’t get an opportunity to just “walk up†to Brad Pitt on a regular basis, but come on, everyone! You can do better than “Tyler Durden, heh heh heh.†From now on, whenever you run into Brad Pitt in a random bar basement, the line is “Hit me.†Or: “Fightin’ in a basement offers a number of difficulties. No. 1 bein’, you’re fightin’ in a basement.†Either works. [NPR]
