Kal Penn Brings U.N. Workplace Comedy to NBC

According to Deadline, Kal Penn’s U.N. show, a single-camera workplace comedy starring Penn as assistant to the U.S. ambassador, is headed to NBC next fall. Oh man, is Rob Corddry available for that role? Can he become available? The show will reportedly “reflect some of Penn’s experiences working on the campaign trail as well as at the White House†as Associate Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement from 2009 to 2010, though probably without the part where everyone runs around the Oval Office screaming in panic and despair. “Maybe this is a better way for him to serve the people — being on NBC and making people laugh,†co-producer Scot Amstrong joked. Um, have you seen the trailer for A Very Harold And Kumar 3D Christmas in 3D? I’ll proudly stand up and defend it still today.
