Prime Suspect is a good show that nobody’s watching, but NBC isn’t giving up on it. In a stunt to get people to sample the Maria Bello cop drama, the Peacock has decided to pretty much make next week Prime Suspect week on the network: Repeats of the show will air next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 10 p.m., with a regularly scheduled new installment on Thursday at 10 (and another repeat Saturday at 9 p.m. thrown in for good measure). It’s not a big roll of the dice, since The Playboy Club is no more on Mondays and Parenthood and Law & Order: SVU were supposed to be repeats next week anyway. But it could give Prime Suspect some much needed exposure (and buzz) as the do-or-die November sweeps kick off. NBC previously signaled its love for the show by ordering six extra scripts, but it has yet to green-light production on those episodes.
