Ryan Phillippe will be a major character on the fifth season of Damages, reports TVLine, though it’s not clear yet who exactly he’ll play. Will he be a surly foe for Patty? A smooch-buddy for Ellen? A criminal? A lawyer? All of the above? Given how the show works, one thing at least is certain: He will not be who he seems! Next season will be Damages’ last and will include “a big showdown” between Patty and Ellen, according to the show’s producers. Whose side are you on, Ryan Phillippe? Whose side are you on?
