Caesar … is … returning. Deadline reports that 20th Century Fox just made a lucrative seven-figure deal with Andy Serkis to star in a sequel to the surprise summer hit Rise of the Planet of the Apes, where his essential motion-capture work as ape-hero Caesar led to calls that Serkis should receive an Oscar nod. It’s unclear whether James Franco or Freida Pinto would return, though, since the sequel hasn’t yet been conceptualized and the closing credits twist left their fates unclear.
