Though Lou Reed and Metallica’s 90-minute Lulu has proven challenging for many a listener (New York’s Nitsuh Abebe called it “ludicrous†and “strange because of the remarkable extent to which it doesn’t really workâ€), the collaboration has found at least one fan: Darren Aronofsky, who has agreed to direct the video for “Iced Honey.†That song, for the unfamiliar, is about trapping a butterfly in a jar and then dying violently (plus something about a charbroiled lamb?), so it should be right up Aronfsky’s perverse, Requiem alley. Lou Reed, for his part, hopes the video “can be his next Black Swan.†(Presumably Lou is as big a Mila Kunis fan as the rest of us.) Anyway, this should be sufficiently weird! [Billboard]
