Every year, Hollywood insiders put out the Black List, which touts the town’s best un-produced screenplays (as voted on by those who read a lot of them). Today, the 2011 Black List came out crowned by The Imitation Game, a hot script about real-life British codebreaker Alan Turing, who was prosecuted after World War II for being gay. It was announced a few months ago with Leonardo DiCaprio attached, and if J. Edgar didn’t scare him off gay period biopics, perhaps the Black List accolade will provide a boost. Also in the top ten: Chewie, which charts the Star Wars saga via the man who played Chewbacca; Father Daughter Time, which Matt Damon is slated to direct; and Maggie, where a family of farmers helps their oldest daughter come to terms with her incipient zombie-hood.
