Certain celebrity romances are granted portmanteau status — like “Brangelina†or “Benniferâ€Â — but it takes a special kind of star to get that sort of wordplay all on her own. Scarlett Johansson is one such celebrity, but if she had her way, nobody would be calling her “ScarJo†anymore. “Oh, it’s awful,†Johansson complained to USA Today (via HuffPo). “It’s a laziness. People can’t actually say the whole name? It’s just bizarre.†Johansson pointed out that Daniel Day-Lewis isn’t referred to as, “like, ‘DaDay’? So Cate Blanchett is not, like, ‘CaBla’? Why is that? Why do I have to get stuck [with it]?†She’s got a point! And that point clearly is we need to start using those names for Daniel Day-Lewis and Cate Blanchett, too.
