If you were among the Adele faithful hoping for the singer’s post-surgery return at the Grammys, then you will have to wait (or pray, or cry) a little longer for confirmation. The first list of 2012 performers is out, and while it includes many awards show favorites — Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and Kelly Clarkson, among others — Adele is nowhere to be found. Of course, an Adele performance would probably be a game-time decision anyway, so this list doesn’t rule out the possibility. And for what it’s worth, Adele has seemed pretty happy hanging out with her new boyfriend on unusual fan-powered vehicles, so maybe her happiness will speed the vocal healing process. At any rate, a Nicki-Taylor prime time “Super Bass” is looking more and more likely. One thing to look forward to!
