ABC has four new hourlong dramas en route, the network confirms to Vulture. Penoza will see Twilight screenwriter and Dexter alum Melissa Rosenberg adapting a Dutch series about an assassinated man’s widow taking his shady place within organized crime. Devious Maids, a soap opera-tinged adaptation of a Mexican show about four housekeepers scheming for fame and fortune while working for Hollywood’s elite, will come from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry. Zero Hour’s plot will revolve around a man who, having spent 20 years as a skeptical magazine editor, gets wrapped up in one of mankind’s biggest conspiraces; Prison Break showrunner Paul Scheuring is attached. Comic book scribe and Green Lantern screenwriter Michael Green will pen and exec produce Gotham, which will follow a female police officer who stumbles into a magical realm within New York City…and which might score some Batman-hungry viewers in the wake of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises?
