The hardest-working actress in Hollywood will take a break from the furious movie-making to play Catherine Sloper, the titular character in the 1947 play by Ruth and Augustus Goetz. The Heiress, in which a jilted young woman takes revenge on both her father and her ex-fiancé, will mark Chastain’s Broadway debut; Moises Kaufman will direct the revival. Co-stars and dates have yet to be announced, but here’s hoping that Chastain has a monthlong getaway to Costa Rica or some equally restful location planned before rehearsals get rolling. Girl’s earned it.
