Oh yes, you read that headline right. And there’s more! According to Deadline, Ryan Murphy went out to dinner the other night with Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, and Cameron Diaz, and they all decided that they want to make a musical, and now they are. Sony has bought One Hit Wonders, which will star the three A-listers as nineties recording artists, who, having fallen on hard times, decide to form a super-group together. What’s more, Beyoncé will also be in the movie, and The Lonely Island will come up with the songs. Murphy hopes to direct the movie sometime next year (he’s already got The Normal Heart on tap for this summer), and let’s hope this happens, because we’ve already got so many questions! Namely, who the hell else is Murphy going to add to a movie already so star-packed that it resembles a distaff Ocean’s Eleven? (Our guesses: Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie, and Michelle Obama.) And also, if Gwyneth, Reese, and Cameron are playing nineties one-hit wonders, which one is the Meredith Brooks, which is the Lisa Loeb, and which is Lady Miss Kier from Deee-lite? And will any (or all) of them rap? Get to speculating!
