‘Do Ya Thing’ Video: Gorillaz, James Murphy, and Andre 3000 Could Stand to Do Some Cleaning

What did you have for breakfast this morning, and did it involve bloody ears on toast? We’re not using some cute British food name like Bubble & Squeak or Toad-in-the-Hole right now; we’re talking actual (if animated) human ears, placed delicately on charred bread. If you’re already grossed out, then you may want to avoid an early morning viewing of the video for “Do Ya Thing,†which does feature an entire bowl of severed ears in close proximity to a toaster. Also in the video: the CGI versions of Gorillaz (ears on toast is apparently 2D’s hangover food of choice), fancy new avatars for Andre 3000 and James Murphy, product placement (as a weapon) for the Converse sneaker that will be sold along with the collaboration track, and a truly grody virtual living situation. As in, sweat buckets and broken plaster and axes lying everywhere. Plus the ears. Ew, the ears.
