Jewel will make her major acting debut as June Carter Cash in a Lifetime biopic, the network announced today. Matt Ross, who played the creepy old-timey doctor on American Horror Story and the also creepy Alby on Big Love, will play a hopefully not creepy Johnny Cash. The made-for-TV movie starts filming this summer and is based on John Carter Cash’s biography of his mother. It’s more promising than Lindsay Lohan staring as Elizabeth Taylor in a different Lifetime biopic, at least?
