It’s a bad week for Broaday plays Magic/Bird and Seminar: After the Tonys snubbed them, both announced imminent closings. Seminar, scripted by Smash creator Theresa Rebeck, had been running since November (and had recently replaced lead actor Alan Rickman with Jeff Goldblum). Magic/Bird, which chronicled the basketball rivalry between Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, premiered only a few weeks ago in April.
