Jerry O’Connell has been cast as Herman Munster in NBC’s reboot Mockingbird Lane, TV Line reports. He joins Eddie Izzard as Grandpa and Mason Cook as Eddie in Bryan Fuller’s dark, dreamy reimagining of the show. Mockingbird’s a tough show to cast: In the pilot script, the tone is both spooky and melancholy, and any moment is as likely to be sardonic as it is to be legitimately scary. O’Connell’s more of a funny guy, and Herman (at least in this version) has a serious sad streak, so this goes in the “we’ll see!†pile.
