Ray Romano has joined the cast of Parenthood for a multi-episode arc, NBC announced today. He’ll play a photographer who comes between Sarah (Lauren Graham) and her scruffy man-squeeze Mark (Jason Ritter). Ooooh! For people who only know Romano from Everybody Loves Raymond, this sounds like a weird and bad fit, but fans of Men of a Certain Age know this is actually totally promising. Romano showed off a resigned melancholy on that show that works perfectly in the cry-heavy world of Parenthood.
