You’ll find all sorts of video game characters rubbing elbows in Wreck-It Ralph, Disney’s upcoming animated film about an 8-bit arcade bad guy gone good, but despite a cameo from villainous Bowser of Super Mario Bros. fame, director Rich Moore said at Comic-Con today that Nintendo wouldn’t let him use Mario himself. “And his brother wanted more money,†Moore deadpanned. Instead, the helmer revealed that a far more unlikely creative talent would be contributing to the film: electronic artist Skrillex, who’s composing the theme to the arcade’s first-person shooter game. Yes, Skrillex is working on a Disney movie. Watch out, Trent Reznor.
