You’d normally expect a big summer blockbuster like The Amazing Spider-Man to last at least two weeks atop the box office, but its $35 million haul this weekend was down 44 percent from its opener, reports Deadline; it was also well behind Ice Age 4’s $45.5 million debut. But the animated film isn’t exactly a runaway hit either — it’s the first installment in the franchise to fare worse than the film before it. (And that’s with Drake and Nicki Minaj voicing wooly mammoths.) Expect it to fall fast once The Dark Knight Rises spreads its wings next weekend.
