Where’d You Go Bernadette is a novel about a mother named Bernadette who goes missing, leaving her teenage daughter to fend for herself. It was written Maria Semple, who previously wrote for Mad About You, Suddenly Susan, and, most importantly Arrested Development. The subject of a bidding war, it eventually ended up with Annapurna Pictures, who in turn hired 500 Days of Summer scribes Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber to pen the screenplay. Without reading Bernadette, let’s just assume the film will be 500 Days of Summer but starring instead George-Michael and Maeby. I bet Maeby’s favorite Beatle would be Ringo, as well.
