Drake’s Aaliyah Collaboration Is Here

Drake, he of the Aaliyah back tattoo and the hopes to executive produce a posthumous Aaliyah record, took to his blog on Sunday to throw out a collaboration dubbed as an Aaliyah song featuring Drake. Google and our nearest Aaliyah experts seem to be at the same consensus that the vocals featured in “Enough Said†are previously unreleased, and it’s all oddly suited to Drake’s typical production style courtesy of Noah “40†Shebib. “Baby, tell me what I gotta do to get you to talk about it / cause we’ve been together a little too long for you not to talk about it,†Aaliyah sings, coaxing another frustrated-with-fame verse out of Drake, who raps that “every million I gain an enemy or a cousin / and people’s feelings have changed ever since I became something.†You’d think the guy might seem a little reverent or emotional to be on a track with one of his biggest influences — or that as the self-proclaimed first human to sing and rap “successfully,†he might lean in a more melodious, duetish direction — but, nope. This is it.
