In addition to the many things that irked us while watching The Newsroom’s first season, we were frustrated by the incredible number of times that loud, personal conversations and arguments took place in the middle of the newsroom. It seems to happen constantly, inspiring the rest of the staff to turn away from their computers to stare wide-eyed, mouths either agape or chewing on a pen, as though it’s the first time such an inappropriate outburst has ever happened. We’ve mashed up some of these great expressions against some of the most intense freak-outs in film: How would the NewsNight kids react to the likes of Jack Torrance of The Shining and Daniel Plainview of There Will Be Blood?
