See All the Red-Carpet Looks From the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards
Presumably invites to this year’s MTV Video Music Awards stated explicitly that no “plus ones” would be allowed, because no one really brought the crazy with them to the red carpet. Not even Ke$ha! (The fashion jury’s still out on Nicki Minaj, as usual.) Instead, most attendees kept to a disconcertingly sedate black, white, and pastel color palette — granted, there were lace and crystals in abundance, as well as the odd patch of neon from the requisite oddly named rapper contingent. It’s almost as if everyone knew they’d fall flat next to Rihanna’s newly-cropped hair. Go figure.
