Yesterday, the story came out that Kevin Clash, the longtime puppeteer of Elmo, was granted a leave of absence from Sesame Street so he could focus on fighting allegations of sexually abusing a minor. Now, only one day later, the accuser has recanted, with his lawyer acknowledging it was an “adult consensual relationship.†In response, Clash issued a statement: “I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further.â€Â
