Mark Wahlberg was recently rumored for Transformers 4, then shot down by his Pain & Gain director Michael Bay, who then flipped, saying that “that very Internet chatter gave me some ideas.†Now it’s official: Wahlberg is the star of Transformers 4, set for June 27, 2014. “An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy,†says Bay, who also proclaims Wahlberg “awesome.â€
