Fox just placed a 13-episode order for a new animated show called Murder Police from former Family Guy showrunner/Futurama writer David A. Goodman and Jason Ruiz. Deadline reports that Murder Police will follow “a dedicated but inept detective and his partner in a twisted city precinct as they try to solve serious crimes.†It’s the first new animated show Fox has ordered since 2010, when the network picked up Napoleon Dynamite and Jonah Hill’s Allen Gregory for six and seven episodes, respectively, before swiftly canceling both. Murder Police will likely be joining Fox’s Sunday night Animation Domination block, alongside The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, and American Dad!, all of which have been renewed for next season already (Cleveland Show has not). It’s Family Guy meets CSI, how can it not run 25 seasons?
