Matthew McConaughey Is Eligible for the Best Original Song Oscar

We are one step closer to a Matthew McConaughey Oscar striptease, friends, because — as hoped and prayed for — Magic Mike’s “Ladies in Tampa� has been declared eligible for Best Original Song. Also on the Academy’s go-list: “Skyfall,� which will probably ensure a post-baby comeback performance from Adele;  Rick Ross’s “100 Black Coffins,� from Django Unchained; the new Les Miserables song; Fiona Apple’s ferocious, not-so-censor-friendly “Dull Tool,� from This Is 40; and, strangely, Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake.� Start mailing in your thongs or coffins or whatever a dull tool is to the Academy; the Save the Best Song Performances campaign starts now.
