Angelina Jolie’s 2010 spy flick Salt is back in sequel talks, with Columbia finalizing negotiations for a rewrite from Oscar nominee Becky Johnston (Seven Years in Tibet, Arthur Newman). “Johnston’s hiring caps off an almost year-long search for a scribe who could reconceive the script with a take that satisfied all parties,†THR writes. Kurt Wimmer, who wrote Salt as well as the Total Recall remake, didn’t produce something up to Jolie’s standards on the first pass.
