‘Breaking Bad’s Betsy Brandt Will Star in Michael J. Fox’s NBC Sitcom

Breaking Bad star Betsy Brandt has just been added to the cast of Michael J. Fox’s  new NBC sitcom, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Created by Sam Laybourne (Arrested Development, Cougar Town), the untitled comedy was the first show to be ordered for the 2013-14 TV season, with NBC winning a bidding war and committing to a 22-episode first season sight unseen. The series is loosely based on Michael J. Fox’s life, with him starring as a husband and father of three who returns to work as a local news anchor after Parkinson’s forced him to take some time off. Brandt plays his wife who works at their kid’s school. Wendell Pierce (The Wire), Katie Finneran (I Hate My Teenage Daughter), Conor Romero (American Gangster), and newcomer Jack Goor also joined the cast this week. Hopefully, Betsy Brandt’s character will have a secret shoplifting problem that doesn’t have much to do with the rest of the show because she’s proven on Breaking Bad that she’s really good at playing a character like that.
