Here’s the 11 Minutes of the 180-Minute Golden Globes Broadcast Worth Watching

The Golden Globes were held last night, with hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler doing every bit as amazing as you’d expect them to and raising the bar sky high for next month’s Oscars host Seth MacFarlane. Even with these two incredibly funny ladies hosting, the bulk of the awards show broadcast was still made up of boring awards show stuff with funny stuff from Poehler and Fey sprinkled throughout. The two highlights of the night were Fey and Poehler’s opening monologue (above) and a bit by their SNL cohorts Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig (below), presenting an award. The combined 11 minutes from these two segments make up the bulk of the laughs from last night’s three-hour-long awards show, but we’ve also compiled some other funny highlights (mostly fun stuff Fey and Poehler did in between everyone else’s boring stuff) and list of who won all the comedy-related awards because I guess that’s what everyone was there for, not just to watch Fey and Poehler like they should have been:

Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig made everybody in the room (except Tommy Lee Jones) laugh as presenters. Wiig is in talks to star alongside Ferrell as Steve Carell’s love interest in Anchorman 2. They’d make excellent hosts next year if the Golden Globes people for some reason don’t want Tina Fey and Amy Poehler back to host every year.

Comedy award winners:

Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy: Les Misérables

Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy (Actor): Hugh Jackman (Les Misérables)

Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy (Actress): Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook)

Best TV Series - Musical or Comedy: Girls

Best Performance in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy (Actor): Don Cheadle (House of Lies)

Best Performance in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy (Actress): Lena Dunham (Girls)

Other funny but less-exciting stuff highlights:

Fey and Poehler coming out, upset and sloppy, after losing the “Best Actress in a TV Comedy Award†to Lena Dunham.

Lena Dunham’s acceptance speech for “Best Actress in a TV Comedy.†Watch the beginning to see how Fey and Poehler posed during the nomination part.

Fey and Poehler on the red carpet.

Skip to :50 to see Amy Poehler in the crowd as nominee Darcy St. Budge, star of Dog President.

Jimmy Fallon and Jay Leno doing a bit where they publicly acknowledge the low-key, polite turf battle over the Tonight Show hosting duties.
