Ratings are in for last night’s Golden Globes with extremely well-received hosts Tina Fey in Amy Poehler. Amongst audiences 18-49, the show earned a 6.4 rating, up 28% from last year’s 5.0 under host Ricky Gervais. With overall viewers, the ceremony was up 17% with 19.7 million watching. It was also the second highest-rated Golden Globes since the 2004 one, which is pretty impressive. Given the impressive ratings and how much fun Amy Poehler and Tina Fey seemed to have doing it, the Globes people are crazy if they’re not meeting with the duo right now about coming back next year. And there’s still time to just let these two host the Oscars also. Nothing against Seth MacFarlane, but the bar’s been set pretty high, and Fey and Poehler should just be the hosts of every awards show from now on.
