Sony began prepping the sequel to 21 Jump Street before the first movie even hit theaters, and now, the studio has announced that 21 Jump Street 2 will be out in 2014. Sony revealed the info at CinemaCon yesterday with a logo for the sequel being included as part of the studio’s 2014 slate. No specific date has been set for a release at this time, just the year. The original movie’s writers, Jonah Hill and Michael Bacall, are also writing the new one, with Hill and Channing Tatum are expected to return as stars. 21 Jump Street’s ending set up a sequel where the two main characters go undercover at a college, so expect that to probably be the plot of the new movie. Hopefully, nobody who went to high school with Hill and Tatum’s characters and found out they were narcs is going to this same college because that would just be poor planning on the police department’s part.
