Despite a big-name director (Darren Aronfosky) and a killer (literally) plot involving magicians, con men, and Hitler, HBO has passed on Michael Chabon’s long-in-the-works Hobgoblin pilot. Rumor has it that FX is interested, but Aronofsky has apparently left the project. Tough times for TV adaptations of beloved dude books at HBO.
