Bob Odenkirk and David Cross Announce September Tour Dates

Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are getting ready to do their first joint tour since 2002, and they just announced a bunch of dates today on the podcast Comedy Bang Bang. Teaming up with their Mr. Show colleague Brian Posehn, Odenkirk and Cross are hitting six big cities to promote their new book Hollywood Said No!, a collection of rejected screenplays and sketches they wrote together. On tour, they’ll be performing brand new sketches and standup material, as well as signing books at the shows and at bookstores in the towns they visit. It’s a fairly small tour, only hitting New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and Portland (with an additional stop at Tenacious D’s LA comedy gathering Festival Supreme), but it’s still pretty great to see these guys doing stuff together again.

In addition to the tour and the book, Bob Odenkirk and David Cross filmed a sketch together in an episode of IFC’s Comedy Bang Bang that’s set to air in August, and they’re planning to do a bigger tour for the 20th anniversary of Mr. Show in 2015 (with even more Mr. Show alums). Here’s Brian Posehn talking about the planned 20th anniversary tour in a recent interview with us:

For that, we’re going to go all out. We’ve already talked about – we’re going to have everybody we can get who can clear a little time in their schedule. It’s tough, because guys like Paul F. Tompkins, he’s got his own life. He’s got a million things going on. So, we’re already kind of giving everybody a heads up that, in 2015, it will be twenty years since we started the show and we’re going to do a pretty big tour.
