It was announced this morning that Kenneth “The Guy Who’s Always Doing Shakespeare Stuff†Branagh will be making his New York stage debut next June in Macbeth. He will be taking the lauded Manchester International Festival production of the Scottish Play to the Park Avenue Armory’s 55,000-square-foot Wade Thompson Drill Hall. This comes after Ethan Hawke announced he’ll be playing the titular Macbeth this October at the Lincoln Center Theater. It’s going to be a Macbeth-off. First to lose their head, wins.
