Daily Show correspondent Larry Wilmore has teamed up with Issa Rae, creator and star of the popular web series The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl, to co-write a new comedy for HBO, Deadline reports. Like the web series, the untitled TV project will star Rae and follows her character’s life as an awkward black woman in the modern world. Wilmore and Rae will also serve as producers on the project. Wilmore previously created The Bernie Mac Show and co-created The PJs, while Rae was developing a show for Shonda Rhimes’s production company last year and is writing a memoir.
