We’ve known for more than a month that Vin Diesel was talking with Marvel about one of their movies, and now it appears we know which: Guardians of the Galaxy. This weekend, Diesel put a captionless picture of Groot on his Facebook page, and Deadline confirmed that he is in fact in talks to voice the character, who, because of a wooden larynx, exclusively speaks using the statement “I am Groot.†He is a highly intelligent, sentient treelike alien who can consume wood and use it to enhance his strength, control trees, and sprout to significantly increase his size. And, boy, can he drive!
