Last month, we showed you the Japanese trailer for Hayao Miyazaki’s first animated film in five years, The Wind Rises. Now there is one with English subtitles, but they’re seriously hard to focus on when there is so, so much stunning imagery going on. Based on Tatsuo Hori’s novel, it tells the fictionalized story of Jiro Horikoshi, the engineer of the Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighter plane the Japanese used in World War II. The film has already been a huge hit in Japan, earning $57 million so far, and will make its North American debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. Hope Pixar wasn’t planning on an easy route to another Oscar this year.
