Alec Baldwin Is Hosting a Talk Show for MSNBC Starting in October

Alec Baldwin has found his first post-30 Rock TV job: hosting a primetime talk show for MSNBC. Although word got out about the show last month, MSNBC made the news official today. The new series, a “current events and culture talk show,†is called Up Late with Alec Baldwin, and it’ll be airing Friday nights from 10 to 11pm (which isn’t as late as the title suggests) starting sometime in October. Baldwin has been developing his interviewing chops as host of the WNYC podcast Here’s the Thing, which started in fall of 2011 and has featured him interviewing Lorne Michaels, Lena Dunham, Chris Rock, David Letterman, and non-comedy people too. He was in talks to host a 1:35am late night talk show at NBC in the spring before jumping to MSNBC.
