You may have heard that James Franco decided to tackle William Faulkner’s fifteen-narrator seminal novel with the help of his Southern accent, Tim Blake Nelson, and Danny McBride. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in lieu of its original Sept. 27 theatrical opening, Millennium has decided to release As I Lay Dying on iTunes Oct. 22, and VOD/iVOD and DVD Nov. 5, likely due to the fact that since Franco’s adaptation “is very much in the same vein as the original work,†it might prove a “difficult sell to a general audience rather than the art house crowd.†So, there’s something you can put off for another weekend while you’re on the couch waiting patiently for the Breaking Bad finale until Sunday.
