NBC Buys Pilots from Krysten Ritter, Mike White, and More

NBC has bought three sitcom pilots from familiar TV names. Krysten Ritter is working on yet another show with a swear word in the title; the Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 star’s production company has sold My Parents Are Too F**king Happy. Deadline describes the show as “an irreverent comedy†about adult siblings whose love lives have been ruined by their parents’ too-perfect marriage. The show will be written and produced by Freaky Friday writer Heather Hach.

Another pilot in the works, from Enlightened creator Mike White along with New Girl and 1600 Penn writers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, is about a 16-year-old prodigy chef who goes to work for his celebrity chef idol, who turns out to have quite a temper. It’s based on the real life story of Flynn McGarry, the 14-year-old wonder chef with his own high-end dinner club in Los Angeles.

The third, from the creator of MTV’s Awkward Lauren Iungerich, continues the swearing trend. Bitch Off The ‘Ol Block follows a young woman whose biological daughter moves in with her and her roommates, turning them into a surrogate family. Iungerich also has an ABC pilot called Damaged Goods, which is vaguely described as “as a comedy about the sexual politics that have changed between men and women in this post-feminist era.â€
