CBS has become the first network to cancel a sitcom this season, ditching the underperforming We Are Men from its Monday night lineup after only two episodes. The sitcom, which starred Tony Shalhoub, Jerry O’Connell, Chris Smith and Kal Penn, never caught on, and failed to retain the audience of it’s lead-in, How I Met Your Mother. Monday’s episode had only 5.4 million viewers, a pittance for CBS, who pulled in more than 15 million for the premiere of Robin Williams’ The Crazy Ones.
CBS will fill the spot by moving 2 Broke Girls forward to We Are Men’s 8:30 spot, and fill with reruns of The Big Bang Theory for a few weeks until the return of Mike & Molly on November 4.
