NBC is developing a new comedy produced by Ellen DeGeneres for the 2014-15 TV season, Deadline reports. Written by Liz Feldman, a gay alum of Ellen’s writing staff who currently works on 2 Broke Girls, the untitled project follows a lesbian who is impregnated by her straight male best friend just before he meets the love of his life. DeGeneres, who paved the way for gay characters in TV when she and her character came out on her self-titled ABC sitcom in 1997, will only be involved behind the camera on this project.
