Tonight’s YouTube Music Awards were certainly a treat for all you Greta Gerwig and Eminem fans out there. (A Venn diagram which is basically just a circle, right?) The Frances Ha star worked it out in Arcade Fire’s Spike Jonze–directed live video for “Afterlife,†punching her way through a sylvan winterscape in a blazer and kicking along with a troupe of wonderful little girl dancers.
Meanwhile Marshall Mathers brought that classic 1,000-yard stare and whisper voice during his performance of “RAP GOD,†a celebration of his selection as the YouTube Music Awards 2013 Artist of the Year. Give the kids what they want, we guess?
